My name is Malory Simpson

My traditional name is gÊ·iyatal.

I am an enrolled Tulalip tribal member, a mother to 4 children who attended or are currently attending Marysville Schools, and a proud graduate of Marysville Pilchuck High School.

I work as the director of the Children’s Advocacy Center and Legacy of Healing, a program that helps to reduce revictimization and provides support for victims of crime, physical or sexual abuse. I am also the founder of the grassroots organization, Together We’re Better whose primary purpose is to help to bring the Tulalip community and surrounding communities together and build much needed relationships.

I believe our families, students and educators need someone who is going to show up for them. I believe that in working together we can bring forth the changes necessary to improve the MSD as a whole!

My Platform

Advocating for Special Ed Students

As a mother of a student in the special education program, I have seen first hand how the lack of resources for para-educators in the district is affecting our kids. The programs are facing even more cuts with the budget crisis. As your school board member, I will advocate to protect these services and ensure that every child gets the education they they need to thrive.

Supporting Teachers and Staff

Without appreciation and support for staff and teachers, students will not have an ideal learning environment. Marysville staff and teachers have been reporting exhaustion and lack of support from the district for years. Many of them are even leaving for better working conditions in neighboring districts. As your school board member, I will work to help them secure fair contracts and create a competitive district where people want to work

Addressing Bullying and Peer Pressure

Every child deserves to feel safe in school and be in an environment where they can be their authentic selves. This is not possible when there is bullying and pressure to engage in illegal or harmful activities such as underage drinking, drug use, and vaping. As your school board member, I will prioritize creating a safe learning community.
